river prayer
as i set down my idols
waterfall, wash the delusion from me. carry away every false border between my body and yours. loosen the hard knot of ego until i can remember that i come from everyone, and everyone flows through me. return me to a joy generous enough to enter every word i speak. let me never mistake power for purpose, and never seek a place above another. should leadership ever find me, let those beside me feel safe enough to bring me the sharpest truth, trusting that even when it breaks the mirror of who i believed myself to be, i will receive it with tenderness and listen as faithfully as you listen to stone, root, and fallen branch. let every choice i make rise from devotion to freedom rather than hunger for money. if i betray the sacred promise of welcoming the stranger, of listening closely to the lives gathered around me, let every coin fall from my hands. let me never forget that among billions of souls, those who enter my life arrive with meaning, carrying some fragment of the river home. make me like you: always yielding, always becoming, flowing until even falling becomes flight, reflecting open passage where others imagined a door. i come from you. i come from everyone. wash me until i remember.
